Terms of Service.

The agreement between you and TaleCut: your license to use the app, how payments and refunds work, what you may and may not do, and the legal terms that govern it.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and TaleCut (“TaleCut”, “we”, “us”), the operator of talecut.online and TaleCut AI Studio. By downloading, purchasing, or using the app or website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the product. You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

2. Your license

Subject to these Terms and your payment of the applicable fee, we grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use TaleCut AI Studio for personal or commercial creator use. TaleCut AI Studio is available on a free tier and on paid plans billed monthly or annually (see Pricing). Your paid license runs for as long as your plan is active; if you cancel, you keep access to the free tier. Legacy one-time licenses purchased before we moved to plans remain honoured on the terms they were sold under. The license does not permit you to: reverse engineer or decompile the app (except where that restriction is prohibited by law), redistribute or resell the binary as your own product, sublicense it, or remove attribution.

3. Payments, renewals & refunds

  • Processing. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. The price and any applicable taxes are shown at checkout before you pay.
  • Plans & renewals. Paid plans are subscriptions. Their price and billing interval (monthly or annual) are shown at checkout, they renew automatically until cancelled, and you may cancel anytime from your account; cancellation stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current period unless required by law.
  • Credits. Each paid plan includes a monthly credit allowance that powers the AI features, subject to a rolling weekly spending cap. Allowance credits are granted each month and expire at the end of that monthly period. Credit packs bought separately do not expire and are not weekly-capped. Rendering on your own hardware is always free and never consumes credits.
  • Refunds. If you are not satisfied, contact payments@talecut.online or support@talecut.online within 14 days of purchase for a refund. Your statutory consumer rights (including any mandatory withdrawal rights in your country) are unaffected.
  • AI usage costs. AI generation runs on our managed infrastructure and is paid for with the credits included in your plan, or with credit packs you buy from us — you do not supply your own AI provider API keys. Local rendering on your own hardware does not consume credits.

4. Your content & rights

  • You own everything you create with TaleCut — scripts, videos, thumbnails, all of it. We claim no ownership of your output.
  • The desktop app renders locally; your source files and outputs are not sent to our servers (see the Privacy Policy).
  • You are solely responsible for what you publish and must comply with YouTube’s Terms of Service, applicable copyright and other laws, and any platform policies that apply to your channel.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use TaleCut to:

  • Mass-produce spam or low-effort, scraped, or inauthentic content that violates YouTube’s policies.
  • Impersonate real people, brands, or other creators.
  • Generate content that infringes copyright or other rights, is defamatory, unlawful, or violates platform Terms.
  • Resell, relicense, or redistribute the binary as your own product.
  • Circumvent the license, payment, or any usage-cap mechanism, or use the app in a way that disrupts or abuses third-party services.

6. Third-party services

The product integrates with third-party services — including Google/YouTube, which you connect yourself, the AI providers we use to run the managed AI features, and our payment processor Stripe. The website also uses consent-gated analytics providers (PostHog and Google Analytics) as described in the Privacy Policy. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

7. Intellectual property

TaleCut AI Studio, its software, brand, and website content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a license to use the app — they do not transfer any ownership of the software or brand to you. TaleCut bundles open-source components (including FFmpeg, licensed under the GPL); those components remain under their respective licenses.

8. Disclaimers

The product is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that rendered outputs will meet any performance or monetization goal, or that third-party services will remain available. We are not responsible for channel demonetization or platform actions resulting from content choices you make.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaleCut and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the product. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the product will not exceed the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you; nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the product at any time and delete your account from your account page. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms (for example, the acceptable-use rules). On termination, the license granted to you ends; sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits) continue to apply.

11. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence continue to apply and are not waived by this clause. We’ll always try to resolve disputes informally first — please contact us before taking any formal action.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes take effect on the date stamped at the top of this page, and where appropriate we will notify you. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
